Abstract
Histochemical demonstration and semiquantitative estimation of the alkaline phosphatase in tissue and cytologic preparation are one of the new and interesting field of recent medical progress.
Alkaline phosphatase are widely distributed in various human organs and tissues, and it removes phosphate from certain organic phosphates and acts significant role in carbohydrate, fat, lipid and nucleic acid metabolism directly and indirectly.
Increased neutrophil alkaline phosphatase activities are seen in cases of infection, trauma, infarction, hemorrhages and the cases under various stresses.
In the¢¥ field of OB & GYN, the enzymes are rich in proliferative endometrium and there are some suspected close relation between serum alkaline phosphatase and the pregnant placenta..
`Recently it was demonstrated that neutrophil alkaline phosphatase(NAP) activities are significantly increased in most cases of pregnant since early pregnancy and the NAP test, is recommended as a,, simple and rapid prengancy test for the early pregnant by several investigators.
The present experiments were undertaken to reinvestigate the response of NAP activity during pregnancy and puerperium as a preliminary study to determine the reliability of NAP test as a pregnancy test and the relationship between the fluctuation of NAP score and both of leukocytes and hemoglobin values during pregnancy and puerperium.
